NCA Application Processing and Fees

Applications and materials are evaluated as received within a time frame of approximately 4 – 6 weeks after all required materials have been received. To expedite the application process, submit all application materials simultaneously. For some options this includes course or workshop descriptions, references, and verification forms. If official transcripts are required, please arrange for such to arrive simultaneously with your application.

NCA Certification Fees *

Certification Fee: $175.00
If applicant does not meet certification criteria there is a $25.00 non-refundable processing fee with the remaining amount returned to the applicant.

Annual Maintenance Fee: $25.00
A fee of $25.00 is assessed yearly to retain national certification. All fees support the certification program including processing and recertification, examination development, services, research, and advocacy efforts on behalf of CFTs.

ReCertification Fee: $60.00
At the conclusion of each 6 year cycle, Certified Family Therapists must meet recertification requirements that include:

-Evidence of completion of 72 clock hours or continuing education.
-Adherence to the NCA Code of Ethics in professional practice.
-Payment on a yearly basis of the $25.00 annual maintenance fee.
